With an Haute Couture collection entitled 'Shine', Mr. Armani treated us to a gloriously joyful feast for the eyes. Beautiful Ladurée pastel-colored fabrics shimmered like water, giving the clothes that wonderful louche quality that he is known for. This collection was classic Giorgio Armani at his best: gorgeous beadwork, languid silhouettes, and sharp tailoring rendering this show a resounding success. Mr. Armani designs for the woman who dresses not according to trends, but to her own sense of what is chic and beautiful. Our Princess Grace was known to do the same.
Talking about tailoring, this jacket is just divine. Incredibly flattering shoulders and décolleté in the most beautiful, romantic fabric. Anchored by masculine front-pleated trousers, this combination is classic Armani and I love it.
This pink tulle confection just makes me happy! It's playful, sheer and oh so elegant. The more dramatic the dress, the lower heel as is the Armani way, keeping this from becoming too saccharine.
As Diana Vreeland said, 'Pink is the navy of India,' and certainly in this collection it has a starring role. The luxurious simplicity of this shape with its little cap sleeve and full skirt is just beautiful and allows that pink fabric to shine! Paired with red flats is just the icing on the cake.
And now for some icy cool pistachio which incidentally is one of my favorite colors. It always reminds me of Grace Kelly. I especially adore the beaded coat.
Fabulous! Sheer, sequins, pale pink, sea green; this is bohemian luxe at its best. I could just see Talitha Getty lounging in this slinky situation and looking just divine.
