Alpine Mechanical Excellence Competition

The first edition of the Concours Excellence Mécanique Alpine (CEMA) enabled students enrolled in the Automobile Maintenance and Automobile After-Sales sections at BAC and BAC+1 levels to get a foot in the door of the world of Formula 1, reputedly unreachable. 1,111 students tried their luck in a competition comprising three tests, with 18 finalists divided into nine pairs. By taking the hands-on tests in pairs, the selected candidates experienced the conditions under which F1 engineers work in the team. The evaluation then focuses as much on the excellence of their know-how as on their savoir être (interpersonal skills, particularly their ability to work within a team). In addition to the experience gained through the tests and the opportunity to work in unique situations and mechanical components, the time spent talking to the team's engine specialists during the regional tests or the final allowed the candidates to broaden their personal and professional perspectives.
